One of the best parts of the new level designs has been how smooth the game transitions to a 2D platformer in the middle of each level. The levels found in the game are based on some of the most iconic stages in the franchise's history. Released in 2011, for the 20th anniversary, Generations offers a superb degree of level design that brings out the multiversal storyline's best.
